Guardianship, Conservatorship, and Protective Placement

Sometimes it becomes necessary to petition the court for appointment of a guardian or conservator for a family member who can no longer take care of him or herself. Today, in order to obtain placement in a nursing home or group home, a guardianship and protective placement is often required.   In addition, government financial assistance programs for some community and group home services may require an order for protective services.

Hill, Glowacki, Jaeger & Hughes, LLP can represent you or your family in connection with petitioning the court for appointment of a guardian or conservator and for obtaining a protective placement.  We can also assist guardians or conservators with preparing the inventory and annual accounts that are required by the court.  If no family member or friend is available to serve as guardian or conservator, one of our attorneys or staff can undertake that responsibility.

If you believe that someone has improperly sought appointment of a guardian for you or a family member, we can also counsel and represent you in that type of proceeding.
